EOTW #6

On to Week 6 of the TLS-lauded* Euphemisms Of The Week and we're bang up to date now. So it turns out that Twitter is a rich seam of snigger-inducing phraseology. Who knew? Oh, you all did. Right.

Recently observed on the web of shame:
  • Christening the muffin pan
  • Buying specialist table sauces
  • Falling over in George Michael's back garden
  • Springing a leak in the cafetiere
  • Getting coronation chicken all over the desk
More to follow...

* no, not really.

  1. Well it's not a Euphemism that is on topic, but this one is still a euphemism and it made us chuckle. It's also a bit of an 'overheard' as well...

    Two of my colleagues were discussing which weekend to hold an event. One says to the other "Well, any time in the next three weekends is good - but then it's the boat race".

    To which the other replied "So is that when your wife is due to give birth?"

    Of course, the first guy was not talking about his impending leap into fatherhood, rather that the 'boat race' was in fact the Oxford-Cambridge Rowing race!

    Made us chuckle anyway ;)

  2. "Watching the boat race"

    Love it, simple but effective :)
