Beef? Stu.

I cannot claim to be right all the time, but Broad named in England Test squad gave me a somewhat polite 'glow' today.

Show us what you can do, young Stuart (what with Harmison almost certainly out for the series...)

  1. I saw CMJ trying to argue - in The Times yesterday - that it was too early for Broad, and pointing to the promise/failure ratio amongst a number of other young England bowlers that have been through the squad in recent years.

I think he's got a point that Team England seem to have been through a number of fast bowlers in the wake of the 2005 season, but I'm not sure his prescription - going back to Andrew Caddick - would send the right message either.

  2. No, that would be madness. I see they have drafted in Tremlett as a more obvious direct replacement for Harmison. Although equally, he has been known to spray it about just as much as the giant grumbling Geordie.

Broad, for me, has more control, even when fired up out in the middle in the heat of a run chase. I guess we're about to find out!

  3. I hear he bats a bit too, which I'm sure will be a consideration...

  4. You don't play yourself, do you Andrew? We might be a few short for a match in Honor Oak on Saturday!!
