Skream In For The Kill
I recently heard this on Mad Decent radio and Sinden's podcast, gave it props on blip.fm, which instantly Twittered it and now I'm embedding the YouTube on my blog. How ridiculously Web2.0 is that?
(I also just discovered the improvements to YouTube embedding: customised playback area, choice of sizes and optional 'related videos' strip. Much better :)

The workplace can do odd things to people:
You sound strange. Like you're calling from inside a small dog.

Over By February?
I noticed yesterday that the Guardian website has decided that the Premier League title is such a foregone conclusion, there is even no point in displaying the leaders in the table:
Sadly, I'm inclined to agree :(

Love Is All Ar-ouch!
I really got the giggles reading this last night; I think the neighbours were worried for my safety:
(from b3ta)
"During a rehearsal of the Witches of Eastwick last week Marty Pellow walked on stage and hit his head on a misplaced metal strut. Cue blood and the poor chap becoming rather dazed. He said he couldn't feel his forehead and subsequently failed to see the funny side of a roadie asking:
"Can you feel it in your fingers? What about your toes?"

Overheard #68
Casually following the live broadcast of the Brit Awards, shortly after a young Welsh female soul singer has been introduced and is about to perform her major hit:
So who are 'Toffee' then?I am still clearing wine off the wall.

This was the tail end of a mobile phone conversation:
"...as they gently drive more and more of their cars into the sea."
I never found out the context.

Peace, Lily
Right.
I'm going to stand here and say to a possibly wearisome & increasingly cynical world that I really like the new Lily Allen album, apart from (the slightly bizarre) Never Gonna Happen*.
And I also liked the last one.
So we seem to have arrived at a situation whereby either (a) she has made two utterly godawful pop albums and I sit here totally outed as the owner of a musical ear more befitting a mutilated koala or (b) they deserve a bit of an unprejudiced listen.
Your choice. And indeed, as ever, your loss.
Oh, did I mention that Spotify rocks like nothing else? I did? OK, good. Do it. Now.
* which for some reason feels exactly like three songs merged into one in an increasingly-desperate coke-fuelled last-minute ignore-the-Grade-Five-Theory-rules-of-musical-chord-progression-Dave-coz-we-have-an-album-to-deliver edit, presumably because it was.

Brazitaly
Looks like it was a fantastic friendly between Brazil and Italy at Arsenal's Emirates stadium last night. Missed the game, due to my stubborn insistence not to give Sky another penny of my money, but from the highlights (thanks, 101greatgoals) a free-flowing match full of entertainment and two cracking goals from Elano and Robinho. Proper football, played as it should be: skilful, fearless and exciting.
Right then, Spain v England. What chance a dour 0-0 draw?

I couldn't help overhearing this, directed as it was, at me, just now:Cheek.
You do have quite an epic head.

Overheard #65
In a lunchtime discussion about common names:
"So did you get any interesting email?""Yes, I got one from the King Of Belgium"
Tweet Petite
If you don't 'get' Twitter, read this: Rands In Repose: A Twitter Decision
"For me, a tweet is still a note I tie to a balloon, which I let go and think, 'Who is going to read that one?'If you still don't 'get' Twitter, I can merely *sigh*
Sometimes I look and see where it ended up, sometimes I don’t."

Twenty-Three
Well that was like pulling teeth. Still, he's arrived.
Number 23, eh? Who else has that squad number?
Oh yeah. Not much to live up to, owl-boy. Spurs on Sunday too. Let's take a look, shall we?
OK, you'll do.
I'm still slightly peeved about Quaresma going to Chelski, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Up the Arsenal.

All Change
So that was fun.
A blog post every day in January, on the subject of 'Change' as per NaBloPoMo rules. You can see them all here (Fork Handles: Change) if you are still remotely interested. However, having got to the end of the month and only had to use my trusty backups of money and/or socks three times, I thought I'd treat you to some recently unearthed photographic evidence of how much I have changed in the last twenty years or so... *deep breath*
I think I was possibly a surly French exchange student in a previous life. And the hair...
